The day the mountain blew apart

the 28/7/13 we read a story with Victoria Gregov called The day the mountain blew apart, It talks about the eruption of Mt. St. Helen in Washington, and this happerned on may 18th 1980, the story is a "Historical Narrative" that mean, Story of a historical  event,  the people and the places are true, but is a writting as a story

  • INTRO
  • Jerry Wheeler and David Johnston were there when the eruption ocurred. wheeler survive and Johnston died.
  • The magma had been rising and pushing inside the moutain, making it expand until the breaking point.
  • CONCEQUENCES OF THE ERUPTION
  • 57 peple died
  • the forest was totally destroyed
  • steam, smoke and ashes came out of yhe mountain covering everithing that was near
  • works, snops and school were closed
  • "ghost town"-people stayed inside his houses  because they couldnt breathe
  • many species died
  • everything was black
  • a huge crater was left on top of the mountain
  • COMING BACK TO LIFE
  • gophers worked like plows bringing the rich soil to the surface
  • the forest will take many years to recover elk bones help flowers to grow

my opinion about this is that this eruption make reflec to many people
